BREWERY ASSISTANT / DRAYMAN  - JOB DESCRIPTION

 The job

 As a Brewery Assistant you will be involved in all aspects of the beer making process. This will range from measuring and loading the ingredients, brewing the ale, cleaning the casks and vessels, to loading and delivering the finished product to customers.

 

Key Tasks

  • Receive and handle raw materials
  • Assist in beer making process – operating and monitoring brewery equipment
  • Clean and sterilise vessels, casks, and production area
  • Perform general maintenance tasks
  • Deliveries to customers

With experience you may be given the opportunity to progress.

 Working hours

This is a full time position. You will be required to work 40 hours per week, some flexibility on start / finish times will be required.

 

Pay

Starting salary will be £14000 to be reviewed after 6 months.

 Training

 On the job training will be given.

 Dress

You will be provided with clothing and personal protective equipment also a company logo t-shirt for dray work. You will be issued with safety boots.

 Personal Requirements

  • Enthusiasm to learn some aspects of craft brewing
  • Good practical and manual skills
  • Be physically fit
  • Be reliable and responsible re. Hygiene, Health, Safety and Environment issues
  • Good observational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work on range of jobs
  • Be numerate – to weigh and measure
  • Good communication
  • Be able to work alone and as part of a team
  • Possess a full driving licence
  • Appreciation of basic office computer systems

 It is important that you enjoy practical work and that you are prepared to do a job which may be physically demanding with heavy lifting at times, some work will be outside. The brewery can be noisy and caution is necessary with some of the machinery.
